Year 10 Photography and Visual Arts students recently had the opportunity to work with Peter Solness, a multi award winning photographer who specialises in the photographic method of light painting.

As part of the Stage 4 Geography unit Water in the World, our Year 8 students spent the day at Sydney Olympic Park learning about sustainable water management practices.
Year 11 Visual Arts students, Jasmine Stanley Dawson, Barbara Mintzas and Marvel Gebraeel recently took part in the HSC Intensive course at the National Art School in Sydney where they embraced opportunities to participate in specialised art classes to improve on their material art making practice.

More than 500 Special Religious Education teachers (SRE/catechists) from across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains made their way to St Andrew the Apostle Parish, Marayong, joining 200 student SREs from 19 Catholic high schools, for the annual Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) Mass and Awards Ceremony. Earlier this term, Cassidy Regan and Hayley Vella were nominated and selected as 2019 Australian Olympic Change-Makers. They were nominated for their leadership roles in promoting sport both in school and in their local community. As award recipients, the two girls were invited to attend an Australian Olympic state forum held at Sydney University on Tuesday 10th September.

Friday 6th September was Nagle College’s annual Market Day. This is a day when Year 9 Commerce students are able to put their learning into action by opening their small businesses to the school community during lunchtime.

Last term many of our Drama students participated in the Drama Arts Factor for Captivate. Ten of our students have now been chosen to perform their self-devised pieces at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre and undertake an acting masterclass with Improv Australia.
