Kickstart HSC Biology 🧫🧪🔬 Our year 12 students attended the University of Sydney Kickstart Biology practical workshops. They extracted DNA, amplified it, cut the gene using restriction enzymes then ran our gel electrophoresis to see the alleles present. They also examined genetic change, using a harmless strain of bacteria and inserting a gene into its plasmid. This excursion was an excellent way for our HSC students to work in a scientific lab while still meeting syllabus requirements #NagleCollege #Year12Biology #catholicschoolsparramattadiocese #FutureChangeMakers

Last Friday, our Year 7 students participated in 'Big Fish, into Little Fish.' This program eases the Year 7’s transition into high school, builds rapport among the year group, and enhances self-esteem and resilience. OPENING SCHOOL MASS & HIGH ACHIEVERS 2024 ASSEMBLY ✝🎉 Last Tuesday, we held our Opening School Mass, which is always such a special occasion, followed by our High Achievers Assembly where we acknowledged the outstanding achievements of our Year 12, 2024 students. New members of the Nagle College Community were welcomed and Year 7 students received their house badges by their Big Sister. 🔷Years 10-12 Study Skills Session – Preparing for Senior Success and Beyond🔷 This week we welcomed Dr Prue Salter from Enhanced Learning Educational Services as our guest speaker for study skills sessions with Years 10-12 students. The sessions were an opportunity for students to reflect on achievements in learning, identify areas for growth, and explore practical strategies to support ongoing success as students move closer to completing high school. Dr Salter’s sessions provided actionable advice on mastering study at home, staying focused amidst distractions, managing time effectively, and creating personalised, brain-friendly study notes. We would like to thank Dr Prue Salter for sharing her insights and expertise with our students!💜😊
